Why does selecting "Other" for location makes the ad not searchable by location?

In a previous thread I wanted to know how to specify more than one location for a rental ad.

The recommendation was to select "other" as the region and to type in all the applicable areas. However that makes the ad not searchable by any of the locations typed in. I see other ads with multiple locations specified that are searchable by any of the entries. They must be doing it differently. Can you tell me what it is they are doing to specify multiple regions?

Because the regions search is set up as a drop-down menu, only pre-set regions are searchable. Users can still find your ad by typing the region in the "search by keyword" field.


Ads that list multiple regions but are still searchable using the drop-down menu may have a pre-set region listed (such as Morningside/Upper Eastside).
