Getting a loan for a small home with bad credit is not that difficult. There are countless lenders and lender programs that make it flexible enough to find alternative ways to get approved financing. And even if you cant get the financing you want right now, then that doesnt mean you wont be able to maybe a month or two from now. There's also different ways to increase your credit score within a short period, so that you will be able to get what you want real soon. If you ever want to inquire about getting approved for a mortgage loan without any obligation, please feel free to contact me anytime.

If you have a stable job, you should be able to qualify for a car loan. I would steer away from the affiliate links posted in this thread, and look for good dealer incentives.
You don't post enough information to indicate if you would qualify for a mortgage, or if you have a down payment.

I recently found a site for helping you understand car loans versus your credit. If you are looking for a car loan and your credit is bad go to http://www.getbadcreditcarloan.info for free information and advice.

Wherever you look, just be upfront with the person helping you. 2 year work history is usually necessary. If you're in the same line of work, especially since you're making more income, if you can explain the gaps and show that it's likely you will stay at the job, you can get a loan for a home.
You can start building credit lines now in preparation. You can easily get a target card, or a gas card, and build from there, but be responsible or your credit will be worse off.
Some banks allow loans with no credit tradelines, so you might see what you can get before trying to build your credit. Expect a higher interest rate. So if you get into a car or a home, work on building and improving credit, so you can refinance later into a better rate.
Best of Luck

I found it easy to repair my credit rating and get a loan at the same time from
Bad Credit Loans (http://www.answer-please.com/bad-credit)
Its just basic advice but its sometimes the basic things we forget, I just followed one of the links to get a loan.
