View Full Version : IBM Laptops

We just purchased a new IBM lap top this week. While doing work and then stepping away for a moment, it went into some kind of sleep mode (not hybernation, which is turned off). All we have is the screen which is completely blank except for color changes. Nothing works to get back to the work screen. I called IBM and the technician said turn the power off and restart. That's fine, but in the process we lose our work. This happens every single time the computer is left for about three minutes. And yes, I did set the control panel. That's not it.

Does anyone has an IBM and have any suggestions?

Hey Sin the problem is the power save options. I disable all of it on my notebook.

Right Click on your desktop. Go to properties.
Then Click on Screen Saver.
On the bottom there is Monitor Power. Click on
Power Options.

I disable all the stuff. Select everything to Never. But keep your
Screen Saver active.

That should fix it.

Thanks Gort! :) But what I really enjoyed was the IBM tech telling me she had no idea how to fix it after waiting over an hour to talk to someone!!!
