I need some advice. Let me explain my current situation. I met this girl last year when I started working on a project for work. We were both brought from our branch offices to work in a central office. She on the west coast and I on the East coast. We developped a friendship. A good friendship, and kept in touch after she left to go back to her branch.
At that time she was single, but then she met a guy and started dating him. They were to come visit me on vacation. Well the relationship didn't make it to vacation. It lasted for 3-4 months. So anyway, she decides to come visit just the same as she had never been to the east coast.
Towards the middle of the vacation, she breaks down and starts crying and started discussing what happened w/ her ex. she was clearly not over him at that point. You have to understand, she had never let any one in as much as she had w/ this guy and she was so sure that this guy was THE GUY. So I supported her as much as I could, and in the back of my mind, thanked myself that I had not yet made a move on her yet.
I never ended up by making a move on her, as she was clearly not over the EX, and I didn't want to be the re-bound guy. I really like her, and when I make a move, it won't be just for a fling. The day before she left, she invited me on a trip down south with her and her friends in 6 months. Good sign...
We spend 9 days together, and had a good time. She even commented that we didn't get on each others nerves which was surprising to her. So I put her on the plane home, gave each other a big hug and left it at that. I wanted to kiss her good bye, but she pulled away before I had the chance. I think and you can correct me if i'm wrong, it was a good thing, as I didn't want her to be more confused.
Now question, how long should I wait to ask her if I can go visit her? And how would I go about inviting myself to her place?
