I work as a cocktail waitress part time, for cash tips. We are required to pool the tips so everyone gets a 'fair' share. I seem to be the only one who works...anyway, last week a fella gave me a fifty dollar bill, he said for me and a five dollar bill for the tip jar. Well, I don't mind admitting on accasion I have pocketed a few of the tips because I really DO do most of the work. But my problem is the fifty dollar tipper, he says there's more where that came from and as he's telling me this, his hand goes from my waist down my backside to my thigh and then up!! f I hadn't jumped aside he would have made 'contact', if you know what I mean. Well, he refuses to stop saying 'I gotta earn my tip, don't I'? He also mentions 'what a drag it might be if someone found out I was pocketing tips and how it might get me fired...and we wouldn't want that to happen, would we?'
Oh my god, I am so livid...at myself for cheating in the first place and at this character who insists he has the right to cope a feel or grope my privates and especially his threats.
What in the world should I do??

Speaking from the viewpoint of a restaurant patron, the whole idea of "pooling" tips really pisses me off. I always have and always will tip my server based on the quality of service which I get. In the past I have left a five dollar bill to pay for a cup of coffee and I have also left a 25 cent tip for a steak dinner. (The 25 cents is left to make sure the server KNOWS I did not simply forget a tip). Whatever tip I leave, I expect MY server to HAVE it and not be required to share it. My tip is appropriate payment for service from MY server and based on the service MY server provides. I do not know what level of service OTHER servers are giving and not interested in paying THEM. That is a bunch of BS.
As for your $50 tip, does anybody besides you and the asshole in question KNOW that you got that $50? How could he possibly proove that he gave you $50? Why would he want to tell people that he gave you a very large tip and create suspicion about his motives for the large tip?
In my opinion, the very second he touched you ANYWHERE you should have slapped him so hard that his grandchildren hurt. When he handed you $50 and then started groping and making inappropriate comments he was treating you like some kind of cheap slut. I am sure you do not need $50 bad enough to tolerate that kind of treatment from slimeball men. Maybe you were afraid of losing your job for making a big scene, but I doubt that your job would have been in jeopardy after you told the manager your reason for slapping this scum. In worse case scenario, good servers are in high demand in most cities.
What should you do? Absolutely nothing at this point. I really do not think the jerk will open his mouth and if he is actually stupid enough to say something, just politely smile and reply that he must be mistaken - you got a very "generous" $5 tip which you placed in the jar. And if he had the nerve touch you again, try knocking a few of teeth out.

No kidding, carl6969 is soooo right, girlfriend. On all issues. I too have had my share of hash slinging. I believe it is a noble job and a difficult one, mentally and physically...however when 'cocktails' enter the picture, it's a whole new ball game.
Men are conditioned to think gals who work in that type of service oriented field for a living, are chomping at the bit to be nasty, especially with them--NOT!
Gee, I'm sorry, too...I will say a prayer, for things to get brighter and that creep wil take his crap else where. Good luck and take care, okay?!
