I have a 1 yr old Staff & she is half house trained. She sleeps in the kitchen at night & is taken into the garden for a pee before she goes to sleep.

HOWEVER most mornings when I get up she'll have pee'd & shat on the kitchen floor. She also does this is we go out of the house for more than a couple of hours.

If the kitchen door is open she will go outside but if not she will just go inside. I have tried the old fashioned method of rubbing her nose in it but this does not help. To be honest I dont really like that method & I read somewhere dogs will just pee in the corner hoping that you wont see it as they are scared you will find it & tell them off.

Does anyone have any advice besides murdering the dog??

Have you tried crate training?

I've Had problems like that with my miniature schnauzer.

What I did was sorta slapped her gently, and said "Bad Dog" She doesn't pee in the house anymore, well, it's rare for her too do it.

Also, Who the hell would give you the advice "murder your dog"?

Crate training is the best way for a dog not to go at night. the dog WILL NOT pee in its personal space. If you put a bed/blanket down in a crate(crate should be large enough for the dog to sleep comfy in, but not play in) leave it next to your bed, leave the door open ALL DAY LONG, so the dog can go in and out and not feel like its being punished when it goes in at night. after about 6 months of that, the dog wont go at night.

Worse then abuse...... Rubbing their nose in their business actually teaches that is the spot you want them to go in.

Try using the crate for your training, really,it is very affective and and a puppy pad.you can eventually start moving the puppy pad towards the door until you make it all the way outside.Normally if you yell at a dog when they start doing there business, then that scares them and will definitly finish doing what they started. You should still let your dog know your the boss(not him)what you say has to go.
