ok, so i rescued a stray cat and took it in to my house. she is the sweetest, most gentle thing you could imagine. i have a three year old and she is wonderful with him, and seems completely in good health (we'll know for sure after taking her to the vet, but i couldn't get her an appointment until after thanksgiving) but what is really concerning me is that every single time she eats, without fail, she sets off with this meowling that makes me think she's dying! her stool is perfectly fine, it doesn't look like she's got worms or a bacteria that would make it hurt when she eats or anything.... so i'm really wondering, why the heck does she do this every single time without fail when she's eating?
i think i'm afraid she may have had kittens out there at some point :( i checked her though, and she's not lactating at all. what do you guys think?

My cat does that prior to eating, shuts up after her belly is full.

Experiment with different foods & textures of food (moist vs. dry) she might not do well digesting certain types of food. We once had a cat that could not digest dry food well, don't know why but she had to have the moist stuff....she would eat the dry stuff like crazy, cry a little bit, then heave it all up.
Get her to that vet appointment, she may have a stomach ailment or internal injury. She may even have allergies to certain types of products. Hopefully the vet can help diagnose the problem. Good luck!!

After rescuing a lot of stray kitties, I have found that a really starved cat will meow during eating and after eating.

thanks everybody :) it seems like she's getting better, because she's stopped doing it. i really wonder if she did it because she was just so happy to be eating and have food (thanks for giving me that idea kei :) )

My family had a cat...she wasn't fixed for a while and she went into heat and wouldn't stop meowing. Kept asking to be let out. She stopped meowing after she was fixed. So that could maybe be your problem. :o :o
