I am an ordinary person (female) with no special skills, really. Oh, I went to beauty school and used to do nails, I've been a real state agent, a waitress, a construction laborer, you know, basically average jobs any one can do. I was extremely abused by my husband and me & 2 kids lived at my parents' home for over half my married life. My husband stayed there too, when he wasn't in jail...we made major moves to different states where I knew no one-he'd work to get us a place & things would be ok-sooner or later he always lost the job-then go on welfare & do burglaries or sell drugs for extras- then go to jail-then me and the kids went back to my mom's to live until he got out of jail. He did not ever want me to work and when I did was when he was incarserated. Work is necessary to 'be', I understand that. But I really and truly always enjoyed being a homemaker. I am very good at it and as I said, I love making a house a home.

**Quick life time line:
1974 married and birth of first son
1981 birth of second son
1995 left my husband
1996 quit work, lived w/boyfriend
1997 granddaughter born
1998 my mom died
2003 grandson born
2004 my husband died

The past nine years living w/boyfriend have been self-realization time. The boyfriend isn't anymore I don't think, I still care for him deeply but ever since I quit my job (he was divorced the same year) he has systematically eased me out of his life although I do still live with him.

I apologize but I'll finish this post later

I think she needed validation, maybe like a displaced person? I can think of a few married couples who could use a 'wife' for hire on a part-time basis. myself included. The 2 days a week I work, our wife could get caught up on the laundry, organize the pantry, make 2 or 3 dinners and freeze them for later, water, feed and transplant my houseplants, mend hems & sew buttons back on, be there/wait for a delivery or repair person, phone in my prescriptions, etc.

Hmmm...wonder if she's looking for a job??

maybe she has died, or is in jail, or had to move, or lost/changed internet providers. maybe she decided she didnt like this forum. Maybe she is always at work, or work/school. Maybe she went on vacation! LOL

I suppose I was sorting things out. I need to be able to support myself and I as of yet am unable to do so and I feel embarrassed and angry with myself, I guess for being in this situation.

You aren't the first person to be in this type of situation and you won't be the last. Don't waste time and energy on the negativity... just make changes for the better
