I have an sponsered ad in the personals section of phoenix backpage that I want to edit. I can not seem to be able to do this and several times I have emailed support@backpage.com but no reply or even acknowledgment. The error I keep getting says :
A portion of your ad text is forbidden. Email us at support@backpage.com for additional info.
CAn someone help me?

the "forbidden text" message means that the community banned or suspended ones posting abilities because a they violated the terms of use.

please see the terms of use for further details.

I have read the terms of use and I can not find any thing that voilates them in my ad. That is why I have tried to contact support to understand what is wrong with the ad precisely and change it but no one seems to be able to answer support questions. Also I would think that if there is anything voilating the terms my ad would be removed but it has not been removed, so I just can not figure out what is going on here

Without knowing what your ad is for, it's hard to say what exactly violated the terms of use.

Sponsor ads aren't deleted from the site until the sponsor upgrade has expired. If your ad violates the terms of use, however, your text could have been blocked.

i think you should try emailing them again forwarding a copy of your ad text. if you read the tou then you would know that you cannot over-post, post in multiple categories, and or post in multiple cities. i you are guilty of one or all three, then this would be the reason you were banned from the site.

violating the terms of use is considered spamming.

well I have not done any of the above, I have not posted repeatedly, not in multiple categories or cities and I have not SPAMMED the classifieds in any way. But why is it so hard for support to get back to me. I have contacted them repeatedly with the text of my ad, asking what is wrong and how to fix it but never heard back from them. As to sponser ads not being deleted even if they are in voilation of the terms of use, I think that is lame. Its like saying if you pay us enough, we let you break the law.

Our support department responds to all inquiries regarding forbidden text. However, because our replies contain links, the emails sometimes get caught in spam folders. If you are using AOL or another provider with especially high spam control, the replies may not be going directly to your inbox.

Again, without knowing what your ad is for, it is hard to say how exactly it violated our terms of use.
