carl6969! You have a sense of humor...good,bad or indifferent, I only mention it because, of the posts I've had the occasion to read, are usually ala 'matter of fact', informative & right to the point. Anyway, the virus post was very cute...I can even tell it to the gals at church on Wednesday night, thank you! Wanna know something cool, if you aren't aware already, I use a'webtv' (now 'msntv') browser and can't be infected with a virus...and I only mentioned that because you enjoy trivia! Cya

Well, I try to keep most of my public opinions and posts either "G" or "PG" but I am not sure I would tell the "Viagra Virus" joke in church. :)
I am not and never was sold on "webtv" for a lot of reasons, (primarily having to do with how I personally use the Internet), but was not aware that it is immune to virus infestation. I though Apple was the only one who could make that claim. Learn something new every day.

How come webtv and Apple can't contract a virus? I know webtv can't download because it has no hard drive...does Apple have a hard drive?

I have never had any interest in webtv so I know almost nothing about their systems and how they work. Apple computers are very similar to PC's in most ways and they do, indeed, have hard drives. I mispoke when I said that an apple was immune to virus attack. It can and has happen but very, very rarely. I think the last virus capable of having any effect on an apple was found 3 years ago. In simplest terms, the way Apple hardware and software is designed and set up, it it almost impossible to create a virus that can infest an Apple system.

If you do some research you will find that Apples or superior to PC's in many ways. The one BIG problem with Apple is the small amount of software available.
