Try these sites:

www.monster.com
www.careerbuilder.com
www.jobing.com

Also try local LA papers on the web. Good luck!

Put an add in the LA section of Backpage saying you're available for French tutoring this summer - I'm sure some rich LA family has a spoiled brat that's failing miserably. If that fails, fly in to Tijuana and just cross the border illegally, you could probably land any other job you want - it worked for 6 million others!

(The worst is that i look in wikipedia where was tijuana!! :o)

finally i dont think that i can come next june, i 've looked for the price of many hotels or hebergements and it is just incredible! I am just So late to try to organize this trip on april! i don't work yet because of my study, and i dont think that my poor little study grant will suffer. I decided to take time this summer, working to make me some money and studying carrefuly your city! LA is so big, i thougt it was like Paris where it is very easy to take the transports ( bus/subway) to go a place to another but i dont understand anything with all your districts..
Finally i plan to come June&July 2009. (So expect that i will bother you this year lol^^)

Thank you again for your help livelychati, i keep your adresses you gave me!

Emille, why LA? There are many other large cities where the public transportation is perfect, you don't need a car, you can get anywhere on metro and buses. Why not look into student exchange programs through universities? That is definitely a better way to go than just travel to a city you know nothing about, have no friends, and no job. Many US universities, especially the top ones, have excellent exchange programs. They also have summer language programs. Dig a bit on the Internet and you'll be surprised what you can find! Good luck!

Why LA? i always wanted to go to california, it 's just like you Americans, wanting to see the eiffel tower^^ There are so many things to see & visit, SF is also not very far...

Journeying by my university is just impossible :( , programms like erasmus are easy for exchange between europeans, but as soon as it s about US it s very complicated.
Futhermore, my study are specific. Medical studies in France are very different than your, that is why i prefer to move during my holidays, respecting my cursus. ( and honestly, if i had to choose a country for a internship, i would prefer a third world country where they need a lot Help. In america, i can't just support the idea of not care someone because he can't pay, i would be so frustated, i apologise if it is not the case, and if it is just a french misconseption but it is another debate)

I hate package holidays, i want to be free, discover your culture and lifestyles by my own. Don't worry, going in a city where i don't know nothing, it s exactly what i am looking for! i think it is very excited and i will certainly share this experience with my best friend!
But thank you again for your advices, i will consider it and see what other city i could visit if i let drop LA..

Des Bisous! Emilie
