Luckily for me ferrets sleep 20 hours out of the day and can't do too much damage, but I'm worried about her chewing a bit of rubber off one of my shoes and swallowing it. How did you get your dog/cat/bird/iguana/etc to stop chewing on everything like an excited shark?

I realize I can't get her to stop hiding stuff, because well...that's just what ferrets do. But, chewing?

I know with dogs they sell bitter apple for this. Not to sure if they have something similar for ferrets. I have Parrots, when I see them chewing on something inappropriate I replace it with something they can have.
Mine are not a real problem I do know a few that have habitual chewers, one has even taken window moldings right off. I wish I had a better answer for you.

Thanks :D

I looked for bitter apple a few days after I got her with no success. Not even Petsmart had it. :(
