credit cards

my sister who is going to college request me and my mom for a credit card. i have been there. i know how credit cards set table in common areas in the campuses to sign up for credit cards. they may sound easy... they were like giving t-shirts, water bottles, frisbees, coffee mugs, etc. in exchange for having you fill out an application. it is really easy but i am thinking twice before we could allow my sister to do so. most of my former classmates who holds their cards have really, really, really high unpaid balances. the quickest way to incur much debt. however, credit cards helped me while i was in campus. got security for emergencies, no need to carry cash and built my personal responsibility and indepence. whey, maybe we should allow my sister then.
