The dog is a Jack Russell terrier - not sure about his pedigree (which means the purity of a particular breed) ;)

Actually, pedigree kinda means "purity"... but it's more lines of dogs, heritage, etc. Basically it shows what blood lines a dog has.
Here's Garner's Chinaman's pedigree;

There's really no way to tell unless you can pull something up on the internet or speak to the owner. You may want to search on google if you haven't already tried.

It's interesting how Abernathy's Molly's maternal grandmother (Carver's One Eye) is also her paternal great-grandmother. In humans, this sort of thing just happens in West Virginia and other areas of Appalachia.

Haha, no kidding. In dogs inbreeding is not outlandish at all, though. A dog's chromosomes are a lot different than humans', so there are VERY different results with human vs. canine inbreeding.

A bitch may have a smaller litter when inbred, but this is the only "side-effect" so to speak.
