I just paid $94.70 for two of my dogs shots! The distemper and the rabies
vaccine! Administered at Banfield pet hospital in Latham N.Y. I think that's outrageous!
Anyone agree with me?

I guess that's a little expensive. I guess it varies from vet to vet.

a rabies and distemper are about $15-$20 each. then they charge you for the medical waste, the actual call/visiting the vet, and they could've charged you for a brief wellness exam... etc, etc.

Where I go they have a fixed shot rate between all animals and I'm getting a benadryl shot to prevent an allergic reaction, the vaccine I need, and a one month supply of Revolution for 30 dollars along with a complimentary check up at my local clinic.

Most vets will tell you their rates, and if they vary by animal. It's worth it to shop around. That sounds overpriced. But, then again I have a small pet.

There are monthly rabies clinics here... free or donations. I buy all my meds online and adminster them myself. 7 in 1 shots for puppies are under 6 bucks and shipped over-nite to your home...

For two dogs its not to bad..I bring my dog and cat in together and usually my elderly neighbors cats to I only get charged 1 office visit.. The only time I feel the price is high is when I go to the avian specialist.. My birds cost a fortune. More then the equine vet costs and he comes to us.:eek:

I guess I'm gonna shop around next time... I was told by my groomer about
this place... probably gets a kickback! I hate getting ripped!
