Just wondering - it seems to be mostly southwestern around here. Not that there is anything wrong with that!

I'm a New Yorker. I've only recently joined this forum, but I've been living in NYC for over ten years. Actually, I was born here, but I grew up in the Midwest and only found myself back in the city as a grownup.
New York has been an interesting city from a sexual perspective. I remember visiting in the 80s and early 90s, walking into strip clubs, and seeing guys getting blow jobs in plain view. I remember the hookers walking down 8th Avenue and those horrible peep-show places with the Plexiglas windows.
I have mixed feelings about the way the city has been cleaned up. Mostly, I'm glad it has. It feels safer. But it has less character, too.

NYC is much better than in the 70's and 80's. They do hide the strip clubs and hookers better than in the past. But, if you want them, they are there!

Yes, I think you're right. I know about the underground strip-club scene. My wife and I go sometimes. It's a bit expensive, but it can be fun.
Another thing about the city: there are no old people here any more. When I was a kid, you'd buy your newspaper from the old guy on the corner. Now, almost everyone is a 20-something or 30-something. I think this is another way the city has lost some of it's character. This a light comedy called "Crossing Delancy" that came out in the 80s. I rented it a couple of weeks ago. it's shows the New York I remember. (Not the seedy, sexy part of it.)
I guess it's too expensive for most old people now. They've moved to the outer boroughs.

Yes, actually. Hotter. Fit, full head of hair, no kids, and single. The only problem is that he's a professional female impersonator (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8H-5nENUaK4) and prefers guys.
