First off, get a lawyer. Secondly, what the f--- are you doing behind a wheel driving in that condition? Get some help with your drinking problem. No one has sympathy for drunks behind the wheel. Especially a judge.

Good advice somedudeinFL, except "what the f--- are you doing behind a wheel driving in that condition?" should be first!

You know it really bothers me that the only thing these people who get DUI's are concerned about is how much jail time or community service they will have to serve. They never learn. All they care about is how there world is effected and never think of the consequences if they end a life. You know, my best friend lost his sister to a "scumbag" drunk driver. I watched a good friend of mine self-destruct as a result and there was nothing I could do to help him. I really hope they show no mercy and make you sweat it out in that desert encampment......

You know... I dont think being thrown into the desert is going to stop it. Put em is jail with all the other BIG TIME Offenders.... you know?? Rapists, murderers.. pedophiles...drug dealers...gang "bangers"....Let em sweat it out. See what it's like.. then maybe they will think twice before getting behind the wheel... Cause if you kill someone, your gonna get locked up for quite sometime... I think that is one of the only ways to get it done...

Until we adopt a get serious attitude, We are going to have to deal with those who drink and get behind the wheel.
I have heard that in Switzerland if you get caught drinking and driving you lose your license for life.
I do not propose that here in the good old, USA... but we need to make the consequences much tougher....
What about after one DUI, you lose your license for a minimum of 1 year and go to jail or home confinement for one month.
Two DUI you lose it for a minimum of Five years and go to Jail or home confinement for 1 year.
Three DUI you lose it for life and have a mandatory five year jail sentence or home confinement ?
I like home confinement, then we are not paying to house you in a prison, you have to have someone support you or you go hungry.

Believe me, if I was running things, I'd garnish a large percentage of their income to pay for state rehabilitation programs and educating these slobs on the weekends. I'd also make them wear certain clothes that are indicative of drunk drivers and pick up trash on the highways so people driving by can recognize that they are drunks and were caught drunk driving. They ought to have a website devoted to that. I mean, they have it for sexual predators. Why not drunk drivers? Sometimes a little public humiliation will do wonders for the community. Perhaps we ought to bring back public flogging, or putting someone in stocks and throw rotten eggs and vegetables at them. What happened to society? Too many lawyers clouding the issues perhaps?

 and one i didnt, ran into a cop that just got divorce papers,it just pisses me off that you can get more time out of driving drunk than you can for killing a motherfucker, and theres a lot of difference between driving drunk and being a child molester, them fuckers just need to be taken out and shot..as far as singling out drunk drivers to do road work or whatever,i think anybody that is in jail ought to be out working to help pay for their stay in the state hilton,i am not an advocate for drunk driving but i think the laws are just fucked up,the same ones who lose their driving privliges are normally back on the road in uninsured cars, because they have to work!or go to the bar!!thats where the law needs to come in effect, weedout the persistant offenders, people make mistakes, part of life!!justice system and liberials have it all fucked up,maybe this person has learned a valuable lesson this time,my second one took 3 years out of my life, and about $3500.00 and that was over 15 years ago!!

Driving drunk is not an acceptable social practice giterdid. The potential for killing someone is exponentially increased. Thats why fines/laws need to be stiff. You drive drunk you should never be allowed to drive again. period.....
I believe more public humiliation needs to be exacted on people who break the law. To many times people get off on a technicality or a stiff fine and there back aagin in the same boat a few years later.
I actually take offense to your DAMM comment giterdid. That is a mean-spirited thing to write and speaks volumes about your age and maturity level. MADD actually does bring public awareness of you drunken slobs out there into the forefront. They serve a purpose. You wait till you have someone close to you die all because of some drunken buffoon with no self-control. Thats another thing....why is it, that drunks wind up killing entire families and the drunks walk away unscathed? It sickens me.

One I deserved and one I didn't?!!!! Sounds like denial! How many did you not get caught for geterdid? Obviously you had your day in court and lost big time. So...you did deserve it. Not willing to take responsibility for you actions (claiming you didn't deserve it) is probably why you got spanked by the Judge on your second DUI. Here is a subtle hint...DON'T drive if you have been drinking...period! I have seen too many dead people because of impaired drivers. The drivers that killed them didn't mean to and are usually very remorseful, but it is too late then. If you have more than one DUI you are a MORON and a DRUNK. BAD COMBINATION.

ok, mom here and one who likes to be an independent adult when kids are away. The drinking and driving does concern me becuase of the damage it can do to innocents in the area, the driver's family and the driver (I do hurt for those who are in trouble or pain even if they caused it themselves). This person went out on a limb admitting what they had done with this group of people and asked for advice. Yes you do need help with the issue you seem to have with drinking and driving, its never a good idea even if its just a bit and you feel fine. I dont know anything about our penalties for drinking and driving as I aviod that situation at all costs. Maybe if you post more about how you feel about what YOU did you would be able to get more helpful info from this group. And to the idiot in support of drunk driving, grow up already.

Wooooow...a month or so and I didn't really get a real answer..just some gossip.. ...Well...I decided I should go with Phillips and Associates..here in Az...Anyone have any prior experience??? Well..He is my story on drinking and driving..How I became lower than I thought I'd be again..Back in 2003 my closet brother was murdered and that's when I picked up the bottle..I drank twice a day, and could careless about anyone or anything...My first DUI, I wasn't driving...The person that was, left me in the car..the cops pull up while I'm ralphing my guts out...My BAC was over-extreme..but going through the courts..it was lowered to an slightest degree..That was in Dec.2003..Since then, I didn't pick up, kinda went cold turkey..(gobble gobble) I had two beautiful daughters...and my life was going straight..until this year 2006, I drank 7 beers of ultra light...slept for a good 8 hours..and decided to go home..I was texting my husband..swirved a little..and the cop pulls me over...Im going 75mph on the loop 101..(which is slow!!) so I get caught for Extreme DUI and speeding...
So what I'm asking, does anyone have any experience with Phillips & Associates..Or does anyone recommend and lawyers??Thanks!! ;)

I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU'RE FROM BECAUSE THE LAWS ARE DIFFERENT. IT DEPENDS MORE ON YOUR LAWYER AND THE JUDGE BUT WITH 2 DWI IN 2 YRS. YOU FACE A YR. IN PRISON, SO YOU MUST GO TO A REHAB. AND THEN THEY'LL DISPENSE THE JAIL, PRISON TIME. I JUST NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT WHERE YOU'RE FROM. THERE WILL BE CLASSES BUT IF YOU DON'T PUT YOURSELF IN A FACILITY YOU ARE REALLY IN DEEP SHIP. THEY WANT TO KNOW YOU WANT TO GET BETTER. YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR LICENCE FOR 4 YRS. POSSIBBLY. WAS YOUR FIRST ONE A 4 LEVEL AND THEY CHANGED IT. THEIR ARE 4 LEVELS, SO YOU CAN GO ON WWW.DMV.DOT.STATE.(WHICH EVER STATE) US. NOT EASY TO GET TO WHERE YOU'RE GOING BUT I'M DOING THE SAME THING BECAUSE IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU BLEW, TOO. I BLEW A .17 WHICH ANYTHING OVER A .16 MEANS YOU HAVE TO HAVE AN INTERLOCK SYSTEM. I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE 2 POINT SYSTEM WHERE I CAN GET IT TO A .15 AND NO INTERLOCK AND FINISH SCHOOL.
I SURELY KNOW WHEN YOU SAY BLAH, BLAH, BLAH,. YOU NEED A SAD, SAD STORY OR YOU DON'T DO THIS AND SOMEONE DIED AND PLEADED FOR PRAYER OF JUDGEMENT BUT YOU CAN USUALLY ONLY GET THAT YOUR FIRST TIME.
JUST HOW BAD WAS EXTREME,

I UNDERSTAND MORE THEN YOUR WORDS CAN SAY. BUT THERE IS A CHEMICAL PROCESS THAT HAPPENS THAT CAUSES SUCH PROBLEMS. DO YOU THINK SHE WANTED THIS TO HAPPEN. DID SHE SAY, O' MAN I JUST WANTED TO GET DRUNK AND DRIVE AROUND UNTIL A COP STOPPED ME. LOOK AT AN ALZELIMER PATIENT WHO GETS IN THEIR CAR AND WINDS UP IN TEXAS FROM GEORGIA. DID THEY KNOW. THE HYPATHALAMUS IS ONLY A DIME AROUND BUT THE DAMAGE IT CAN DO WHEN IT HITS THE FRONTAL CORTEX CAN DO GOOD THINGS AND BAD THINGS. READ A LITTLE OF VAN GOGH, IT'S LIKE HAVING 2 DIFFERENT PEOPLE INSIDE YOU BUT WHO DO YOU LET CONTROL. WITH VAN GOGH, ALSO BIPOLAR, AND YES THEY REALLY ARE TRUE ONES. DO WE LET OUR CREAVITY COME ALIVE AND WHAT SCIENTIC SAY WE LOOSE, WELL TO LOOSE IS TO GAIN BUT MY MAIN POINT IS YOU MUST HAVE HELP. YOU MUST KNOW YOUR TRIGGERS AND YOU MUST CONTROL THEM. IT'S FINE TO BE UP IN AN ATTIC PAINTING A PICTURE YOU'LL SELL FOR RENT MONEY OR ANOTHER BOTTLE OF THE EXPLOSION OF YOUR BRAIN CELLS TO PAINT THE STREETS OF PARIS (WHICH I THINK WAS THE NIGHT HE PROBABLY CUT HIS EAR OFF==== WHAT A PRESENT FOR A GIRLFRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE WAS JUST P-O'ED CAUSE SHE REALLY ONLY USED HIM AND THE REALITY CAME TO HIM.
I SO BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAY BUT THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO OTHER THAN TO BE KIND AND HELPFUL TO A PERSON WHO SUFFERS WHAT YOU ARE SO LUCKY NOT TO HAVE. IT IS BETTER TO GIVE THAN RECEIVE.
SCIENCE IS NOT SO FICTIONAL, IT'S JUST PLAIN AND SIMPLE. WE'VE COME UP WITH SHOOTS FOR OUR CHILDREN WHICH HAVE ARTISM AND SPEECH THEIR OWN LANGUAGE WHEN PUT TOGETHER.
WHO ARE YOU TO CONDEMN A PERSON WHOM YOU HAVE NEVER MET NOR HAVE YOU ANY SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND. ONLY THE NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR THAT LOOKS OUT THEIR WINDOW AND WHAT WILL YOU'RE CHILDREN LEARN AND EVEN WORSE OR BETTER, WHAT IF THEY BECOME ONE OF THOSSSSSEEEEEEE PEOPLE. HOW FAR WILL YOU GO TO HIDE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tess.....Anyone can make a bad judgement call. But when these bad judgement calls continually happen - there is no sympthay from anyone. I lost a very good friend of mine who happened to be a solid individual and who was larger than life. No words or any of your rhoertic will change my mind on people driving drunk. I think there is a voice in everyone's head that says Im too buzzed to drive or I think I might be able to make it home.....People know right from wrong. Regardless of any emotional situation that drives peeople to drink in the first place, these people do not belong behind the wheel of an automobile. What is wrong with staying home and drowning your sorrows? It's these insecure types that feel the need to "be seen" in the bars to make their depressing lives seem so much better. It's pathetic....
So many of these drunks are looking for excuses and a way out of their pending legal problem. The first step is to admit they have a problem. If they cant keep their problem under control then get into a program. If the program doesnt work then maybe it takes going to jail to turn their lives around.
I believe in being kind to people as well however, I have a threshold. I am not condemning anyone. I am tired of hearing about how drunks are always seeking an escape hatch to their legal problems. They blame everyone but themselves for making bad decisions. Enough said....

Yes - I agree drinking and driving is wrong - every one makes mistakes. The law should not be black and white it should be gray. I was deployed to Iraq = came home received a DWI and lost my driving license for 2 years! The state said my vehicle would be "immobilized" my girlfriend cannot even drive it! Now I'm going back to Iraq because I cannot drive to work, to get food, to LIVE. I made a mistake but making it impossible for me to LIVE is wrong - considering the fact there is no public transit here. I know I fucked up - but given the fact the first offense is 120 day suspension and then it bumps up to 2 years is a little extreme. I'm at a loss now - thanks alot for your service to your country - thanks for nothing to the military for addressing problems w/PTSD and what it does to people like me - nobody fucking cares - just give us your $$$ and go to a BS class which is another money maker for the state. Provide some type of REAL help for those who need it - while I was busting my ass in the desert watching my buddies getting blown up the MADD mothers and judges were playing golf and bridge.

You should be proud of your service, I have several friends in Afgan & Iraq.
Funny thing is none of them drive drunk. I have spent my whole life in public service, I do not drive drunk either. You fucked up, do not cry about it and diminish your service. You can get a work permit to drive back and forth. Sell your car to your girlfriend then she can drive it.
