I just found my 14 yr-old cat dead on the floor in my livingroom.:( He was fine just a few minutes ago.
I walked in and saw him spread out in front of the heater like he was sleeping. I called his name, then nothing. I'm not fan of cats, but this is devastating. There was absolutely no sign of illness or trouble.

That sucks. Any antifreeze around your place that he might have gotten into?

No. Of course, he was an outdoor cat, so there's no telling what he's eaten. Man! This is too weird.

Damn... 14 years old for an outdoor cat is pretty good. Better take care of it before the wife gets home!

I called her at work. As for his age and the fact that he was an outdoor cat, he looked like he was about two years old. No scars, etc. He was a great looking cat. That's why it's such a shock.

Wow... Mine are all inside cats, but when I had the indoor/outdoor... that bastard got in a fight every damn night... He only lived to be about 7-8... that is why I was amazed at the 14 years old.
Don't get any ideas in doing the "Pet Cemetary" thing... Don't say I didn't warn ya!

that sux man. i've got 4 of them and my dog. if my dog or cats died i would be devastated. it's even worse for a kid. they can't really understand completely that everything dies and there isn't always a reason.

Too late! My daughter wants to bury him in the back yard tomorrow. I've gotta dig the hole and we'll do the memorial when she gets home. I had to have my son take him out of the trash can so he doesn't go out with the garbage tomorrow. He was eating just 20 minutes before I found him. I hope he's happy wherever he is. Thanks for the comments and advice, all.

Condolences... especially to the daughter.
We lost one here to the coyotes... I had to spend days searching with my daughter just to give her the piece of mind that we tried to find him.

I'm sorry Rich. :(
We buried our dog in the back yard because I couldn't bear to have her anywhere else. You dig a hole for a Great Dane and you've really got a hole!
Hope the kids are okay.
Sorry about your kitty, man.
I'm sure he's much happier with leaving quickly and peacefully.
