SWEET: Can't offer two cents worth of opinion on that (cause I haven't had _that_ much experience -- more than some, a lot less than others), but _one_ woman I've known for quite a while said that she hadn't had an orgasm during intercourse before we got together (and, if I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure it took until our second or third time together before she was comfortable enough to receive oral sex and have a clitoral orgasm -- no one had offered or tried before, so she'd dissuaded me the first time or two). And, as I recall, aother woman said her long-time partner had always been kinda quick (so she "got hers" via oral sex). There've been other stories, and more than half of them have been of the one or the other variety (never had one during; or the partner wasn't attentive -- or experienced -- enough).

Don't know if that was a _recent_ poll, I'm assuming it was. I would've thought women might be more assertive about it. Then again, if your partner isn't interested in, um, playing ball...

Bascially, I'm not surprised if that's a recent finding. What _does_ surprise me (a little) is the notion that there are still men out there who don't take pleasure in pleasing their lovers; men who aren't willing to hang in there and make sure she gets hers. Definately amongst randy 20 somethings who just want to fuck , but as you get older the foreplay becomes a big part of sex and if couples don't embrace foreplay then I guess its either lack of time they can spend together or they have a relationship problem or their sex is just very bland.. I agree with all of that. As you said, when you get older it becomes more important or nessasary and even if not that, It is a sure way to show you do care to take the time for their wants/needs. When my wife won't show any recip. or any attention at all it sucks big time. Even after all requests are tended to or even flat out pampered she refuses to give a little attention, it shows all too well her disconcern for my feelings. Wich just makes one reluctant to go such lengths to result only in being hurt.

SWEET: I have experienced an orgasm from intercourse. However,it doesn't happen as often as I would like. When it did happen, it surprised the hell outta me because I really didn't think it was possible. I was probably around 38 when it did. (okay, just gave away a rough estimate of my age ;)
