4 years ago I got a restraining order against a girl i dated for a while. I was very upset that she broke up with me and was now seeing my friend that I introduced her to so i invented things on the internet such as slandering my Matchmaker profile, had strange men from the site call my house so i could document harassment. I made a false police report and filed Domestic Violence charges against the girl. I placed several slanderous postings on snitchster.com and said she was doing it. I told the judge, who was a real idiot, that she was harassing me and I got a RO for 3 years. Now my past has come to haunt me. Someone informed on me. The police had a warrent to search my house and took my computer. I since have a new one. but there is incriminating evidence on that computer there is child porn. I need Help. Can they prove I was looking at it? Can I say it just appeared on my computer? I have a lot to lose a new wife, who knows nothing about all this. I don't want it to ever come out. Can someone please tell me what I can do about the porn and if all the harassment i did to that girl will be seen if they examine my computer would they find the emails to her and the matchmaker profile that i slandered? Would they do anything to me for committing fraud? Can that girl come back and do anything to me for the fraud if they find anything? I live in Marina Del Rey CA.

Well you can try to claim and talk you way out of it anyway you want but they will be able to find that stuff in your computer. Only a very skilled computer engineer or hacker can really clean stuff out so it can't be found and even then they usually can't get rid of it all.
If you looked at child porn, they will know, just the URL's in the history will enable them to see if it was an accidental thing, like a rare pop up link or one you left real fast when you saw what it was or if you were frequenting it or downloaded files.
You filed false police reports, once they have proof of that, you are in trouble.
Here is a site that may help with some information though:

Oh and by the way, don't you think it would be better to tell your wife the truth, I mean, before the police show up to put you in cuffs?? Be honest with her, just in case. Trust me, if you don't tell her and get fined or arrested with accusations of being a pedophile, she will be much more upset with the surprise than she will be if you just tell her.
And quit looking at child porn, that is just sick! Call a lawyer and get a consult just in case!
