I would like to know your opinion regarding companies doing background checks if you are making less than $30 an hour. I seen a job posting online that wanted every skill under the sun, a degree, background check and a drug test and it was paying $11.00 an hour. What in the world is wrong with them? I can understand the drug test because they didn't have to use drugs. But sometimes you can be arrested under false pretenses. For Example, you come to visit me at my home, I am murdered after you left but my neighbors saw you there and your fingerprints are the only one there other than mine. What happens now? The killer had gloves, yeah some killers have college degrees and know better than to commit a crime without gloves.
Well you go to jail until someone can state your whereabouts during that time. Now you have a record that will show that you were arrested.

Every since September 11 (911) more companies are requesting background checks. Why? The people responsible didn't have a record! What about teachers, doctors and child care providers who molest children? They have degrees and a CLEAN BACKGROUND. WAKE UP EMPLOYERS you are going about this all wrong.

What is going to happen if all the employers start background checking? There will be more criminals because there will be more people out of work.

Mildred chill. Background checks only show convictions not arrest. So if you have been convicted of a crime, it will show. Now that doesn't mean they won't hire you. Your conviction may have nothing to do with the job , IE: illegal assembly...(protesting the war or abortion). In which case it will not enter into the hiring process. Hey if it's a $11 job they prolly don't evn care.

BTW who did you kill?

I have to say that info you posted is wrong. Within 4 months, I applied to well over 30 something jobs and I can remember 5 of them telling me they couldn't hire me because I had a Deferred DWI(misdemeanor) and a warrant in Irving, Tx(misdemeanor). Yeah, I couldn't believe it either but they pulled up a warrant for a liscense plate lamp being out. A few years ago companies would over-look deferred adjudication, not anymore. I finally found a good job that liked me enough not to even care for a background check. GOOD LUCK! Within a few years our sweet America will be much similar to a 3rd world country. I'm talking much less land of the free.

BTW... I had to downgrade from a certified medical coder to medical collection agent b/c of my background. The coding jobs I applied for were paying between $23-27/hr. Now I am making $14/hr and alot of these lesser paying jobs are equally strict about who they hire. Once again good luck! Welcome to a Country stripping us from freedom. The Vice President shot someone, but will that go on his background and stop him from getting the job he deserves? The President went to war under false pretenses and he still works.

For that last comment don't judge me. I have served my country in the Marine Corp and feel that too many of my Marines have died for a president who is selfish, who lead them to a war behind a podium with a suit on. No further comments.

Hey maybe if Chemey didn't get those five derferments he'd know about the rules of hunting. And Bush the bastard got out of serving by going into the national guard. But they have no problem sending other peoples kids off in harms way. And all for a lie. There are no weapons of mass distruction just wimps with mass deseption. ;)

I was recently served a Restraining Order by the local Police; my Neighbor filed for one because "I was harassing him!" We've been fighting for years and apparently he's sick and tired of listening to me bitch about his behavior? But what I want to know is....will a Restraining Order show up on background checks done by potential employers? It's just a civil harassment issue....not a criminal one....so it shouldn't show up, right?

Do your own background check to see what happens.
