Parents should never let their children out of their site in public. Everyday I see kids running free, and parents just look the other way. But, then if something happens to one of the kids.. oh my gawd!! Put it in the media. Who was responsible for that kid's safety and who wasn't doing their job?
SO's have to work and support their families just like everyone else. Just because someone screws up, doesn't mean that they are going outto do it again.
It is about time that people know the truth. The chance of of a Sex Offender repeating his/her crime is s only about 3%. Within that 3% group of people, only 1% have molested a child. Of these people only 1% of them make up the group that are the sicko predatory, child molesting freaks. This is the tiny group of people that get into the media. Most SO's, were busted for having sex with someone under 18. inapproprpriate touching, flashing, or peeing in public. Not every SO is a rapist or ongoing child molester.
SO's have the lowest repeat (recitivism) rate of any crime commited in the USA.
Unless he or she is one of 1% who are one of the sicko child molesting predator freaks, the likelihood of an SO commiting another sex crime is almost non existant when compared to other crimes. People who commit violent crimes such as murders, drug dealers, and the like. There are more of them are getting out of prison, and moving in next door than there are SO's. And they are more likely to be repeat offenders, Being a greater threat than the average SO.
Regarding the safety of kids, what about the millions of kids who are beaten, and often beaten to death by their parent in this country? What about those children who are neglected and abanded throughout every state in this country? What about the throw away children whose parent have kicked them out of thier homes, leaving them to fend for themselves? Or the ones who prostitute their children for money and or drugs.
What about the babies that are being murdered by their own parents? Or thoses children whose parents cook methamphetimine in the nest room?
I am sure this last comment is going to get to someone. What about the irresponsible parent/s who insist on smoking cigerettes in the presence of their children. Knowing full well the health dangers they are exposing their kids to?
Who represents the real dangers to children?
