Digital Network Art is a unique global collaborative art project being launched this year. It is the work of five final year degree students at the Dundalk Institute of Technology. The project aims to bring together the creative talents of people from all corners of the world in an interactive multimedia exhibition to be held in Dundalk, Ireland in May 2006. At this exhibition, visitors will be able to browse the wealth of materials submitted by the public using an innovative interface designed to help them create their own unique experience. For this the Digital Network Art team is asking anyone interested in helping collaborate on this venture to contribute their work.
Through the medium of art, photography, music, spoken word, the written word and film, contributors can express their feelings on the themes that Digital Network Art aims to explore. These themes are mortality, wealth, conflict, power, passion, belief and identity. The showcase of this work will then bring together this wide range of creative talent to help express these universal themes. To be a part of it, we ask that you send us copies or digital recreations of your art work, writings, poetry, music, photography, recorded speech and film, this material will then be gathered an exhibited to the public in May. The exhibition itself will be an exciting experience, where users will be able to explore this database of material.
Digital Network Art is an attempt to create a truly collaborative multimedia project. The end result will be a unique insight into everyday themes as expressed by a diverse range of people, and we are hoping as many people as possible will take part. We are asking you to help us with this special project. We want anybody with something to say on these themes to contribute to any of the themes described. This is your chance to have your voice heard, and to express yourself in a groundbreaking global collaborative effort.
