We're starting a movement. A Virginity Movement.
Or maybe the opposite....
The leaders of our country are afraid of sex. They won't talk about it, they won't think about it, they won't teach about it. In Kansas (where I have the misfortune of living), school boards have banned books that teach about sex--not about contraception, but about the physical, scientific workings of it all...sperm, egg, embryo, etc. As a consequence, our nation's youth are becoming less and less informed, more and more ignorant every day. They--and I'm talking about our nation's young women, here--are taught that sex is bad. Our bodies are bad. But sex is good, right? And our bodies are good, right?
We are starting a movement, and we need you.
We want you to write a creative non-fiction essay of your first time. It can be funny or not. A good experience or a bad one. We want to know every different kind of story out there. We want women to be informed of the good and the bad. We're not trying to encourage promiscuity; rather, to encourage a conversation, a recognition of our biological urges, and a responsible, well-informed attitude towards the whole damn thing.
We cannot guarantee publication, but we have connections and we're certainly going to try our damndest. We cannot guarantee revenue. This is not a paying gig. But it is a noble effort.
