responding anonymously to a reply

I placed an add with my email address anonymous. I received a question and I am not sure how to reply to it anonymously. Is this possible through the add or your website, or do I have to reply from my own email address?

the person asking about your ad will be able to see your email address if you respond back to their direct email. the anonymous feature is implemented so that spammers cannot simply pull your email address off backpage and send you unsolicited emails.
