There may be many reasons behind that. Firstly, your hard drive might be having lots of bad sectors. Have you installed windows on the new one or the old??

secondly, there can be some kind of conflict... ! some of the drivers might not be working well! (e.g. your graphics card...)

thirdly, your memory cards (RAM) might be hving problems...this does not happen so often...but if your computer is an old one, it's likely to be this!!! !

Finally, perhaps...it's due to the over-heating of the processor :D ! Try by putting a new layer of sillicon in between the cpu fan and the processor. This should solve the problem!

it was because the power supply could not support all the devices.

First off, this shouldnt happen on a new machine.

A suggestion would be to transfer the files you need from your old hard drive to your new hard drive. then unplug it.

If you cant do this because it is that unstable, simply unplug the hard drive and see if the problem goes away. Then you will know whether the old hard drive is affecting your new system.

Where did you get your new system from?
Have you got antivirus on your new system?

my experience is that your old hard drive has corrupted sectors...and it probably runs slower than your new hard drive. I would take the old hard drive off.

Click Start, Control Panel, System, Advanced Tab, under Startup and Recovery click settings, uncheck automatically restart under System Failure, then click OK and reboot the machine.

Then when rebooted, go to My Computer, right click the C:\ drive and run error checking.

A good start!! Mac@cloudninecomputerservices.com
