I've said on here repeatedly that I very rarely watch or listen to the other three. I find them to be obnoxious, redundant and pretty much booooooring.

I do agree with your assessment of Joe Scarborough completely.
No, no one on MSNBC can compare with the vitriol of Hannity or Rush.
Occasionally Ed Schulz goes too far, and O'Donnell can get worked up. Rachel is usually dead on in her assessments. Yes, she approaches everything from a liberal bias, but she is fair and spares her audience the hateful fire and brimstone of some of her conservative counterparts.

You won't find a counterpart on MSNBC for the birther crap and other conspiracy theory stuff you get on Fox or Rush.

PS: I find Schulz and Matthews equally boorish, obnoxious, and boring.

It's a matter of perspective. Ours obviously differ.

If the economy tanks, it's because business owners want it to, which will only hurt them, in the long-run.

I understand the economy and business, and I voted Obama. I also understand bullshit and history. History tells me not to pay heed to right-wing Republican bullshit regarding running a government or a budget.
I have to call you on these comments above.

No business owner has decided to tank the economy. If the economy tanks it is the policies that emit from the Fed with 68 new regulations per day and the big two; Obamacare and the expected new higher taxes on the horizon.

This makes me doubt whether you have an understanding of the economy and business at all. All these new policies, taxes, and Obamacare are hurting the people that can least afford it. 1 in 6 is on Medicare, 1 in 6 is in poverty, 1 in 6 are on food stamps. It is getting worse not better.

You do the math. Jobs are what is needed and none of Obama's policies have helped job growth with any significant effect except in the negative. Besides, there are those that think it has already tanked based on the slow recovery and dismal growth. Blame does not fall on the business owners. We, like you, are just trying to survive.

I'd add one more wrinkle. I've been actively attempting to hire "QUALIFIED" truck drivers for over a month now and I'm still looking. This is far from a Minimum Wage job. There are a couple of reasons for that but I don't have the time right now to explain.

Unlike most of the Obama haters, I do not believe Obama is doing anything INTENTIONALLY to destroy America. I believe he is doing what he thinks is best. If what you are saying is true here, I would be interested in hearing Obama's reason for doing this. I have to believe there was a good reason.

All I can find is his desire to "level the playing field." Destroy America? I don't think it is his intention to destroy America. However I am aware that others do think that is the case and there are others that believe he is paving the way for the Anti-Christ. For me, they are both a real stretch. I don't want to believe in the Anti-Christ because I refuse to go into agreement with that concept. But I do feel that if enough people believe in it; then it will come about. I think I can counter-intention at least a thousand of those sheeple.

What we call "America" is an idea represented by our Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. That some people have not been able to prosper here is not the fault of the country or the fault of some evil cabal of world controlling rich people. I personally have seen immigrants both old and new prosper here. I have personally seen and know about people and family that could barely speak the language when they arrived but have still managed to provide homes and businesses to support themselves and their families.

Yes, it is difficult and yes, there are people that feel left out of the race. But there are no guarantees of success and there does not seem to be any lasting shortcuts. Talent and luck are not evenly distributed throughout the human race and neither are the two most important qualities needed to succeed; desire and persistence.

My mother used to read certain scriptures to us (my little brother & I) out of our big colorful family Bible when we were kids. Usually it was after church on Sundays while we changed out of our good Sunday clothes (but not always) or when we needed what is now called a "time out." One scripture that actually meant something to me was this one:

"Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.'" - Exodus 14:15-16

When I asked her what that meant, she told us that it meant, "Don't just pray, do something." (English translation from her Spanish, "No sólo rezar, hace algo").
She was bilingual but mostly spoke "TexMex" using a combination of words from both languages.
It stuck. I can still hear her heavily Mexican/Spanish accented voice say those words now. I don't think she got that from her Catholic Church but as a child musician playing violin in the local Protestant Church.

Do people ever get over missing their parents?

Such a nice intrepretation by your Mom...and no...I think we carry a piece of our parents with us and will always miss them. I agree with most of what you posted...we have as a nation moved away from hard work and perserverance. But I think this started when companies began shipping jobs overseas. No everyone desires to own thier own business and are perfectly content giving 110% to thier employers and in return we just hope that they appreciate our contribution. We also have a "entitlement" population, definately not 47% as the Gov. would state...a small but growing populaton. Let's just say they make up 15-20%. The rest are just trying to survive, pay their bills, save a little nest egg and enjoy life. We also have different definations of what "rich" is. Some would say someone pulling down 250K per year is wealthy...while others consider the millionare/billionare wealthy. When you are reporting 200 million is annual income, then 14% tax rate is a slap in the face to someone paying 28% and earning far less. The tax code coupled with outsourcing middle class jobs is why many have negative feelings toward the wealthy...not just because they are.

There was a time when a person could get a job with a good company and become part of the company and spend a lifetime at that company. A person would be proud to announce who they worked for because the company gave the employee something to be proud of and the company commotted to the employee and employee back.

What appears to have happened is, company's no longer gave any committments to the employee and put them out the door on a whim, they no longer valued the employee as part of the "family". In turn, the attitude of the workers has degenerated to the point that they don't care about the company anymore or dedication to the company. Now we have workers and future employees that are just in it for themselves - just like the company.

Amswer - Choose your employer wisely. An asshole in the ranks is always an asshole whether she/he is a domestic product or a foreigner. In my limited experience most of the assholes are in middle management and play "protect my turf." Also, if you don't know your boss personally then the company is just too damn big.
