two weeks ago my rotty started stumbling,couldnt hold himself up,he was alert,had appetite,hes only 5 years old,i took him to a vet,he prescribed prednisone,hes gotten better but still stumbles does anyone know about this,they want to take more test but $$$ is an option right now.any advise would help right now.

Sorry about your Rottie,
You didn't say why they gave you pred.Im thinking probably it sounds like he's got arthritis or some sort of injury??? Anyway,i had to put down my beautiful Doberman a year ago with symtoms like that , she had an injury to her spine that is common dobermans.I payed 1200 for an ink test injected into her spine , and found out that she could get better or worse even with corrective surgery. She was 10 years old,but she had a wonderful life before all that happened. My point is ,sometimes you can do all the test in the world ..even spend all the money you have,it still may not fix the problem... The rest is all up to you .Hope all goes well |
